A weekend with Family and food.

Chris' parents were here from Friday to Monday morning, Chris' aunt, grandma, cousin and cousins daughter stopped by to see the house yesterday and for dinner. Family is the best.
It is always going to have to be his family, mine lives on the other side of the world, and sometimes I wonder why I moved so far away being such a family loving person as I am.
And when everybody leaves and it's just Chris' and myself, it feels to empty and sad.

Friday was midsummer in Sweden, a big holiday, I didn't celebrate it, Americans wouldn't understand the idea, but I will get better with the Swedish traditions for my daughter, I will find organisations and groups for Swedes when she is old enough to understand.
Hopefully I'll be able to take her to Sweden every summer, so she could learn where mommy came from, where mommy grew up. She wouldn't know otherwise and a part of her would go lost also.

But theres a dose of Swedishness on the way.. Manel lands on Thursday!

  1. Hello! I think taking your daughter to Sweden every summer when she's older is a great resolution. She will love it, and I'm sure she will love that tradition. It is also so good that you love your family here in the States, to have people to depend on and talk to.
